This week’s project really challenged me and my photography skills. I have never really done photography before and wasn’t sure where to begin. The video tutorials were extremely helpful, and gave me a little bit of an idea not only where to start, but how to proceed from there.

The pictures that I had the most fun with were the focus pictures. It was fun trying to figure out how to do foreground and background. After quite a few tries I was able to get the hang of it. I loved taking those pictures because when you focus on different aspects of a frame, it really changes the perspective. I choose to do my focus picture of a moped, and the yellow curb behind. Next, I tried getting pictures of light. The outside light was harder then anticipated. The sky was completely overcast and didn’t have as much as an effect that a bright blue sky would have had. For the light inside I took a picture of three pots. In Photoshop I was able to shift the green color of the pots, to a brighter more vibrant blue. The last were the composition photographs. For the leading picture, I took it of my roommate Moriah as she looked off into the distance. It drew the viewers eyes in, and lead them to the open space to the right of her. Because it was inside light, I worked with Photoshop to make it brighter and more lively. The rule of thirds picture is of a tabletop. There were many contrasting colors and shapes. From doing this activity I achieved not just taking pictures, but rather I am now learning to enjoy photography. I had fun walking around and trying to capture the beauty that is all around.
